Dr. Karl N. Kapoor has practiced in Johnson City since 1985. He graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984 with honors. The practice has grown along with Johnson City and Carter County over the years. Dr. Kapoor, his wife, Anna, children, Nathan and Sarah are active members of First United Methodist Church in Johnson City and strongly support the campus ministry at ETSU. Sarah currently attends Happy Valley High School and participates in weight-lifting for extra-curricular activities. Just recently she placed third in the nation for her weight class! Nathan is away at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville. He is continuing his interest in the jazz band as well as a study focus in history.

The family is also very involved in the East Tennessee Juvenile Diabetes Association and has a walk team for Sarah. They welcome any participation to the JDRF and invite you to walk, start a team, make a donation or learn more about JDRF. They have two dogs, one cat, and a horse (along with all the patients at the Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic.)

Dr. Kristin Olson, also a graduate of Auburn University, joined the Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic in October of 2001. She has practiced in Johnson City since 1992. In addition to conventional veterinary medicine, Dr. Olson has completed additional extensive training in veterinary acupuncture, chinese medicine, and physical rehabilitation for animals. Dr. Olson enjoys working the 4 days at Pinecrest but is also a busy mom. She is a room mother at the elementary school where her daughter Makenzie attends.

Dr. Tonya Hinkle is a graduate of The University of Tenneessee College of Veterinary Medicine from the class of 2000. She has a long history of association with our clinic. While in college at ETSU and later at UT, she worked at the clinic as a veterinary technician. She is one of several clinic volunteers and/or employees who continued on to become a veterinarian. After working in North Carolina for a couple of years while her husband completed a term in the military, Dr. Hinkle returned to Johnson City.

Beginning February 1, 2008, Dr. Josh Hinkle has joined the veterinary staff at our clinic. It is no coincidence we have two Dr. Hinkles. They have been married over ten years. This Dr. Hinkle has served in the Army for the last four years as a veterinarian responsible for working dogs in this branch of our military. Some duties also included service to the troops through food safety and inspection. He was deployed for an 18 month assignment in Iraq again using his training to care for the working dogs as well as protection of the food supply. Dr. Hinkle graduated from UT in 1998. He is originally from Elizabethton and is glad to be back home.
