Owner, Veterinarian

Dr. Karl Kapoor has been at Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic since its opening in 1985. He graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. After many years of solo practice, Dr. Kapoor is thankful and blessed to have a wonderful associate, Dr. Hinkle, as well as a skilled, knowledgeable and enjoyable team of staff members to work with each day.

Tonya Hinkle, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Tonya Hinkle is a Johnson City native. She received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree with an Animal Science concentration from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2000. She then received her DVM from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.

Scott Wiseman, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Scott Wiseman rejoined the Pinecrest team in the fall of 2024. He is originally from Avery County, NC, where he grew up on his family Christmas tree farm. He graduated from ETSU in 2017 with a degree in biology. During his time at ETSU, he shadowed and volunteered at Pinecrest. He then graduated from NC State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. He practiced mixed animal medicine for 2 years in Washington NC before moving back to Johnson City.

Wellness Exams

It’s important that your pet is seen by a licensed veterinarian for a checkup at least once a year. Many health problems in pets are treatable when detected early. Wellness exams also ensure that your pet is up to date on vaccines.

Microchipping

Microchipping is a quick procedure in which a small chip is inserted under your pet’s skin. If your pet is ever lost, the chip can be scanned, allowing the person who finds your pet to access your contact information.

Surgery

We provide a number of surgical procedures at our animal hospital, including spay and neuter surgery, emergency surgery, oral surgery, orthopedic surgery, internal surgery, and tumor removal.
